If the recipient has a small home or one with a lot of fragile items, I would not suggest winding it 40 times as the package says to help prevent any breakage of items once the butterfly is let loose.

These would not be good as "toys", but are rather a novelty item. They do break, and I broke two of them by winding the 20-times reccommended and having the plastic frame break.
