We had high winds, a early wet snow, and down came one of our tallest, fullest trees. The chainsaw came out and it was realized that the blade was dull. My husband went and bought another blade only for that blade to go dull. My husband decided, since the tree was so large, we needed to get a blade sharpener and not keep buying new blades. This is a generic blade sharpener that works on most portable chain saws. While searching, after box stores were closed found this and it could be delivered quickly. This sharpener has been a lifesaver. After working steadily on the tree, cutting firewood and bundling branches for a couple weeks now, we have used this sharpener a few times. It works well and keeps the blades ready to keep cutting.

This worked fairly well, but seemed to wear down the grinding stone quite a bit on the first use. I think I will find the most use for it when I am out in the woods and need to sharpen the blades quickly to finish the job. It is definitely portable and I can toss it behind the seat of my old truck and not lose it like I would a file.

This sharpener is a good helper in my shop. I've used it many times and it really works. Now I don't even have to wait for the chains to blunt. The most important thing is to keep me safe. We chose this style and are pleased because it has a locking mechanism to keep the chainsaw safe and highly recommended

Using this chainsaw blade sharpener isn't as good of an end result as giving the blade a proper sharpening, but it is quite a bit faster and more convenient for a quick fix. Now I can 'sharpen' my blade out in the field in a minute or two instead of having to go find a place to sit down to take a half hour sharpening it the old way. It isn't as sharp as new, but definitely makes it better, giving more runtime than before. My chainsaw arm only had one hole in it, but it was pretty quick and easy to drill out a second hole so this product would fit properly. I love how they included several extra sharpening stones.

I got this for my husband and he loves it. He just followed the instructions and sharpened his chain in seconds like it says on it. He needed it sharpened cutting down trees for a neighbor and had this sharpener instead of a file. He really likes how easy it is to use and he got to finish cutting for the neighbor. A win win for him.
